Korean Village Information

This year’s workshop will be held at “Sup sogui Hosu” which is the new KOREAN VILLAGE at Concordia Language Camps! The Korean Village is located near the main campus of the Concordia camps on the SOUTH side of Turtle River Lake.
NOTE: This is NOT the same side of the lake as the Russian Village that we have been at the past few years. The street address is: 10115 Sonamukkil NE, Bemidji MN however, this may not appear on Google Maps.
For those of you who were students with us several years ago, it is located very near the Spanish, Finish and Norwegian villages that we used in previous years. Access the main Concordia campus off Beltrami County Road 20 and proceed to the main entrance/gates along “Thorsonveien” road. Once you get to the main entrance, take a right to skirt around the Norwegian village. You will pass the Concordia offices and keep following to the “end of the road” to lead you to the Korean Village. Watch for directional signs!

Registration Area
Warm and welcoming!

Dining Area
Because of the dormitory style layout, there will be no access to any cooking facilities or refrigeration. You may bring a cooler but, please be aware that you will not have access to any additional ice. Concordia’s policy is “no perishable food” so please be cognizant of this. (They are trying to minimize the potential for mice, bugs, etc.) Also, because of the very few requests for breakfast in past years, we will NOT be providing any breakfasts this year. Please bring your own breakfast food if you wish. The first coffee break of the day will be mid-morning and we will be providing baked goods with that each day. We will have “honor system” access to bottled water and some pop. There are numerous water filling stations so we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle.

Lodging Area
The sleeping arrangements at the Korean Village are different than the Russian in that they are more of a dormitory-style rather than individual cabins. Bunks (we will only use the lower bunks) are grouped in sets of two with a privacy curtain. There are places in each cubicle area to hang coats, leave bags, etc. Our plan is to group requested roommates together with a buffer/empty cubicle between as much as possible. This is all dependent on how many campers are staying each night.
ALL housing, bathroom/showers and classroom areas are handicap-accessible. NO STAIRS!
In each dormitory, there is a gathering area with a table and chairs. These areas will be used for classes during the day but will be available for you to use in the evenings for chatting, games, cards, etc.
