Golf Ball Carving
This year, Frank will teach you how to carve on golf balls! Beginner to confident carvers will take an ordinary golf ball, remove the cover, draw on a face and carve away with a knife and gouges.
Bring a medium knife 1"-1 1/2" length and small gouges 1/16" - 1/4", #2-#5. Please bring your carving tools and gloves if you have them. But don't let that stop you, Frank will have tools available to share.
Kit cost: $8.00 ball & holder, $5.00 for extra golf balls

Low Relief Carving & Woodburning
Students will carve, woodburn, and paint a 14X 10” (approximately) basswood plaque featuring either a trout or musky fish. You will first carve and then Les will discuss the basic techniques of woodburning on carved wood. He will also show you how to apply acrylic paint to colorize your project.
Kit includes the plaque, pattern, acrylic paints and instructions. All carving, woodburning tools, paint and miscellaneous supplies will be provided by the teacher.

Heirloom Bentwood Box
Back by popular demand, Hal will be teaching his Bentwood Box class this year! Hal will take you step-by-step in the process over three days as you create your own Scandinavian wooden box. Here's your chance to learn the history, types and uses. Students will learn the art of selecting the wood, making a mold, preparing, cutting, and bending wood to create these wooden boxes like our ancestors did. Students will also learn about the types of lacing, fit the bottom and lid in place and how to finish the box.
If you have these tools, please bring them: Carving knives (Pfeil or comparable): Skew: Pfeil D1S/8 or palm type 3/8 in. Fishtail: Pfeil 7F/16 (optional) Gouges: Pfeil 3/16, 6/16, D7/14. Hal will have tools to share also.
