Baskets for Beginners
This project for beginning basket weavers is 6" diameter X 8" tall. It has a shaker-style bottom and uses 1/2" flat reed, 3/16" flat reed and cane.
Students will learn to do a round splint base with an odd number of spokes, plain weave, rim lashing, cut and tuck, and notched handle application.
Students bring: container for water (ice cream pail), hand towel, scissors, awl or small screwdriver, spring type clips or clothes pins, measuring tape or ruler, pencil.

Blueberry Harvest Basket
Dimensions are 6" wide X 7" tall with a shaker style square base woven with 1/2" flat reed. Skills learned are plain weave continuous weaving, cut and tuck, notched handle application, and rim lashing. The Blueberry is a suitable project for ages 14 and up!

Rope Pottery: Sewing Basket
Clothesline rope is zig-zag into a bowl shaped basket. This rope pottery technique results in a sturdy project. The base is an embroidered fabric just right for a pincushion that Karen has embroidered.
Students bring: sewing machine with arm extension or box to be level with machine, 10/16 Jeans machine needle, scissors, pins, tape measure or ruler, 2 bobbins, heat removable marking pen or pencil.
